Men's League

Stonebridge Golf Club is pleased to offer our outstanding Men's Association for your enjoyment. We have a 9-hole league playing on Mondays. We will kick off play this year on Monday April 10, 2023.

What is it & who can join?
The Stonebridge Men's Association is a competitive 9-hole golf league played on Mondays during the peak season. The league affords golfers of all abilities an excellent chance to infuse structured competition into their regular play. The Association is open to any person 18 years or older.

What is the cost?
- Annual Fee: $35 (used to cover league expenses, i.e. trophies, mailings, etc...)
- Golf Fees: $18 to walk, $26 w/cart
- Weekly game: $5 (mandatory)
- 10 Round 9-Hole punch card available for $130 (savings of $50)

When does the league start and end?
The 2023 season will begin on Monday April 10th and will be highlighted by the 36-hole Stonebridge Men's Club Championship July 21st and 22nd.  Our two-man tournament will be played Saturday and Sunday May 20th and 21st.  Play as often or as little as you prefer during the season. You need not play every week. There are instances when league play will be interrupted because of a holiday or big tournament, but this is rare.  The season will conclude in mid-October.

Is it true that only good players play in the Men's Association?
Certainly not! Our members shoot anywhere from 32 to 60 for 9 holes. The league is flighted and handicapped for fair and equitable competition.

What about sandbaggers? How can I compete?
At Stonebridge, we purchased our own software to do Men's Association handicapping. Only scores posted from league play are used to compute handicaps. In order to inflate your handicap, you would have to play poorly intentionally during league play. That wouldn't make much sense would it?

What kind of events do you have?
We play a variety of weekly games each week including Beat the Pro, Net/Gross, Chicago, Throw Out Your Worst Hole, Scrambles, Best Balls, etc... The 2021 tournament line-up will include the 36-hole Stonebridge Men's Club Championship, a 27-hole two-man tournament and a Match Play Tournament.

Will I have to play the same 9 holes every week?
At most golf courses the answer to this question is yes. At Stonebridge this is not the case. Stonebridge Golf Club features 27 Johnny Miller championship holes and each week we rotate the 9-hole course the league plays on. This variety is part of what makes our league so enjoyable.

How do I join?
It is simple. Just go to the golf shop counter at Stonebridge and ask to join our league. There you can fill out an application and pay your annual dues. Once those formalities are out of the way, have a great season and play well! If you have any other questions, please feel free to call the Pro Shop at 957-9000 ext 1.
